This artwork refers to the rose industry in South America. Roses are grown in Ecuador for the United States, primarily for Valentines day. The pesticides required to produce a perfect rose are poisoning the people, fish and ecosystems of the countries they are grown in. They also affect florists and others handling the flowers preparing them for shipment.
